Projects We Deliver

Nea Odos

The first chance for Qtolls to replace an existing Toll Back Office System was given by Nea Odos. The need for a new, modern, more flexible and robust system required a full migration to Qtolls.

The task had high levels of risk and included a wide variety of technological and business requirements to be fulfilled.

The migration of the existing customer base of 55k subscribers, and the operational website with 11k customers, to the Qtolls system, as well as facilitating parallel transactions across the Plazas, were the main milestones of the project.

The smooth operation of all the subsystems and the successful SICE-BOS replacement was a real achievement.

Nea Odos has a  total length of 380 km, that includes the following main sections:

  • PATHE motorway of an approximate length of 172,5 km from Metamorfossi I/C (area of Attiki Odos) to Skarfia, Prefecture of Fthiotida, after Kamena Vourla.
  • “Ionia Odos” motorway of an approximate length of 196 km. from Antirio to Ioanina (Egnatia Odos I/C).

The ongoing deployment of store & forward functionality is under development due to connection limitations and geographical isolation.

First Time Deployment

Fotis Gonos, Intelligent & EM Systems Manager Nea Odos

Our first deployment of the TC Back Office System was for the “ODOS KENTRIKI HELLAS CONCESSIONAIRE, S.A.” (Central Greece Motorway), the central highway in Greece.  The motorway was constructed by a consortium of TERNA, CINTRA and IRRIDIUM.

The system was designed in collaboration with concessionaire members, in order to achieve the best result for the final user according to real needs, and not as a customised product.

The project was successfully delivered in 6 months and has worked smoothly since March 2015.

Kentiki Odos consists of 12 frontal and lateral plazas with a network of 40 lanes and a single customer point-of-sale.
